I am learning to not give up. A while ago our family started a new morning routine where we eat breakfast while we read the Bible, sing worship songs, and pray. Very simple, yet so meaningful! Not long ago, we read the passage in Galatians where it says, "...do not grow weary...do not give up..."The short phrase "Don't give up" has become a common motto around our home. The kids especially remind each other and even us parents 'not to give up'. It is so encouraging!
This week I took all the kids to Indianapolis for a doctors appointment then to the Children's Museum. I ALWAYS plan on getting lost. I even told the kids as we left our hometown "Guys, we will get lost at least once today." They knew it was true, because this is the story of my life. Sure enough, I did. After an hour of getting NOWHERE, I said, "I think I'm going to have to give up, kiddos." And of course, they responded with the reminder, "NO, MOM, don't give up!!!!" We finally got SOMEWHERE which actually wasn't where I originally meant to go, but the kids were excited and even proclaimed that God was helping us. When they saw enormous dinosaurs crawling into ten-story windows, squeals went up and the smiles of three ecstatic kids became this mama's reward for not giving up.
Learning!
