Meaningful Homemaking

I love the blog A Magical Childhood!  The mother/writer offers tons of fun, doable ideas for activities that encourage you to make your child's childhood magical.  I have done some of the creative suggestions myself and love it!

As much as I love the idea of creating a magical childhood for our children, it is not my overarching goal as a parent.  Over time I have honed in on one keyword that I use to give me guidance in my daily living as a homemaker and that is the word meaningful.  I aspire to make my home meaningful from our kitchen walls, to our playtime, to our books, to our food, to our bedtime.

This morning I was expressing my goals to the Mister about making our home meaningful at the same time voicing how frustrated I was for failing in accomplishing my goal to the magnitude I thought I should; as usual, he shed his wisdom on the situation.  He advised that I not try to make 100% of my day meaningful, but instead aim to make 50% of it meaningful and as I get the hang of it, increase it to 75%.

Good point!  And so I shall!  Better get to it, eh?
