Needle Eye

"My eye hurts," my adrenaline started pumping. Abandoning all the plans for the day, we hopped in the car and headed north. We followed the clear blues skies up the highway, but dark clouds filled my mind like the storm that blew into our town where I left my two younger children and husband. Little did I know that as I faced a storm in my mind and heart, heavy rains, dangerous bolts of lightening, and strong winds waged overhead just forty-five miles south of the doctor's office.

"It is risky; if he moves his eye, it can cause cataracts, loss of vision, or worse."

The sirens sounded.

I prayed, "I need Your wisdom, Lord."

Hidden in the shelter of the basement, the kids gathered for safety without their mother.

Trusting God. We all did.

He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. (Daniel 2:22)
My son's bravery, like thunder, broke through the clouds.

The light.

The calm.

The eye.

Needle Eye Easton, the courageous!

God's eyes see all. Everywhere. Everyone.

(Good news: Easton's eye is much better and everyone is wonderfully safe!)

Did anyone else find themselves amidst a storm yesterday? God was with us all!

Together.

In a way, our storms bring us together.

Miles apart, yet close in heart.
