I love C.S. Lewis; he certainly challenges the way I think!
"But if you decide to make thrills your regular diet and try to prolong them artificially, they will all get weaker and weaker, and fewer and fewer, and you will be a bored, disillusioned old man for the rest of your life....It is much better fun to learn to swim than to go on endlessly (and hopelessly) trying to get back the feeling you had when you first went paddling as a small boy."
Thank God, He has generously given us the thrill of natural change!
Unfortunately, "we pick out and exaggerate this natural pleasantness of change and twist it into a demand of absolute novelty."
Lord, You satisfy us completely. Help me not to forget You.
"But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert." Psalm 106:14
"For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things." Psalm 107:9
