A New Tradition

Our family loved the idea of the famous elf on the shelf, so we decided to tweak it and make it directly connected to the reason for the season. We got a new nativity and only set out the shepherds, sheep, and other animals in the stable. Our kids discovered a note attached to the shepherd's staff, in which, thanked our family for letting them care for their sheep in our home, but they warned us that the little black sheep, Piper, wanders off and gets into mischief. They apologized for any inconveniences we may encounter this Christmas. The shepherds requested that the kids return Piper to the flock if she is found, so that she will be properly cared for.

The first morning we found a trail of books into the kitchen where Piper had opened Easton's bible to Psalms 23.

The second morning Piper left the refrigerator opened, drinking buttermilk.

The third morning Piper got out the Wii and was playing the food chopping game.

This little lamb is a bit of trouble, but the kids always carefully bring her back to her fold so the shepherds can watch over her.

Stay tuned for more updates on our little mischievous lamb this season!
