A few weeks ago, I went to Hobby Lobby to get a teacher gift....and ONLY that! Turbo, the two-year old, came with me. I scurried around the store with my little shadow enthusiastically helping me. I tried not to look around (I did not even get a shopping cart), since I knew exactly what I needed and I was NOT going to get anything else, but like most times when I go in that dangerous place I see things I have to have! MUSTS! So I started grabbing. I picked something up, oooooed and aaaahhhhed, then tucked it under my elbow, planning on taking it home. Seriously, I found so many things I had ALWAYS dreamed of having...I mean, I would NEVER find this RAREITY EVER, AGAIN! I kept finding more and more things, I hardly could see over the large arm full of amazing finds! A definite SCORE!
"Okay, I've gotta get Miss D's present!" I finally announced and I looked over and my two-year old son had his arms full of eye-catching merchandise; he was EXCLAIMING to the whole store, "And THIS is for ME! And THIS is for MY bir-day! And THIS is MY present!"
I stopped and just starred at my little guy. Then I looked down at my collection draping from my arms. It was like a mirror. Begrudgingly, I convinced myself and my little boy to put back just one thing. Then, gradually, one by one, as we made our way to check out, we put back our things and YES, we ONLY purchased the Teacher gift.
I came home and confessed the whole scene to My Good Man and we laughed until we cried!
