Our first born (E-Boy) took a field trip to the local grocery store with his Kindergarten class to buy food for the locals in need of non-perishable food items with the money the class raised. Each group was challeged to buy a food from each food group with sixteen dollars.
The students learned about the grocery store on the tour around the facility.
The store manager even let the entire swarm of five and six-year olds explore behind the scenes of the store.
The most memorable part of the experience had to be when a glass jar of pickled pig's feet shattered right in front of our feet. A highlight of the day, to say the least!
